Girls athlete of week: Beegle provides heartJanuary 26, 2010Name: Jess Beegle School: Everett Age: 18 Grade: Senior Sport: Basketball Athlete of week achievement: Beegle scored 26 points and had eight steals in a 63-36 win over Bellwood-Antis, had 16 points in a 68-17 rout of McConnellsburg and scored 22 second-half points in a 62-52 come-from-behind win over Northern Bedford. Season update: Beegle is leading the Sideling Hill League in scoring with 18.5 points per game, is second in 3-point field goals, in the top five in rebounding (5.9 per game) and first in steals (4.4). She is also second in assists with 3.1 per game. Coach Keith Moyer's quote: "She gets recognition for scoring points, but many nights she's our leading rebounder and does a lot more. She's the heart and soul of our team.''
