NORTHERN CAMBRIA - Ariel Rocco needed 18 points to reach 1,000 for her Northern Cambria career, and that is exactly how many she got as the Lady Colts beat Purchase Line, 71-48, in high school girls basketball action Wednesday night.

"Her parents didn't want her to know exactly how many she needed, but she had some idea that she was close," Northern coach Eric Thomas said. "In the fourth, we kept telling the girls to go to Ariel, go to Ariel. She kind of figured then that she was close. We kept pounding it into her, but that is how her parents wanted it to be."

Breanna Kochinsky led Northern Cambria with 25 points, while teammate Jessica Rocco added 14 points. Kelley Sedlock added 10 points.
