Marcus Lattimore, considered the top running back prospect in the Class of 2010, has eliminated Penn State from contention to sign him, PalmettoSports.com reported Sunday.
Lattimore also dropped Oregon from consideration and will sign with either South Carolina or Auburn in February. Lattimore is a 6-foot, 210-pounder who often draws comparisons to Ronnie Brown or George Rogers.
Lattimore visited Penn State twice during the season and played in the U.S. Army All-American Game last weekend with five Nittany Lion recruits.
Penn State has 18 recruits so far in this class and is believed to have offers to at least three other prospects. The Nittany Lions' class is currently ranked among the top 10 nationally.
