Jennifer Ann Callan

Jennifer Ann Callan, 39, Flandreau, S.D., died Monday in Sioux Falls, S.D. On New Year's Eve, she suffered an aneurysm and had been hospitalized since then.

She was born in Belgium, daughter of Patrick Callan and the late Linda (Shaw) Callan. She grew up and lived in Pennsylvania until moving to South Dakota in 2007.

Surviving are her father and stepmother, Patrick and Robin Callan of Florence, S.D.; a daughter, Jamie McClaskey of Altoona; a son, Scott Pope of Altoona; a grandson, Leviathan; two siblings: William Callan of Florence, S.D., and Lisa (Chad) Odell of Clear Lake, S.D.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother; her grandparents; and a brother, Anthony.

Jennifer was employed in Brookings, S.D., as a certified nursing assistant in an assisted living center. She enjoyed spending time with her children, reading and cooking.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. today, Jan. 9, 2010, at Blessed Sacrament Church, Florence, S.D. Burial will be in Esterly Cemetery, Florence.
