Dennis W. Lynn, 55, Roaring Spring, died Wednesday morning at his residence.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late H. William and Doris R. (Langham) Lynn. He married Deborah L. Helsel on June 10, 1972, in Roaring Spring.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Scott A. (Julie Hardy) of Roaring Spring; a granddaughter, Lacey R. Lynn of Roaring Spring; his grandmother, Viola Lynn of Martinsburg; and five sisters: Diane Herncane and Denise Hoover and husband, Max, all of Roaring Spring, Debra K. Lynn and Dana McIntyre and husband, Sam, all of East Freedom, and Darlene Barnes in Georgia.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry L. Steele; and a brother, Darryl.
Dennis was a 1972 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School. He formerly was employed by CTR Supply, Duncansville; Suburban Propane, McKee; BCO, Hollidaysburg; and McCabe Trucking, Claysburg.
Dennis was a member of the Bare Memorial Church of God, Roaring Spring, where he formerly was a youth adviser and formerly taught the junior high Sunday school class. He was a former member of the Altoona Bible Church. He was a former member of the Roaring Spring Lions Club.
He enjoyed racing, camping, hunting and especially spending time with his family.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, in the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring (www.thompsonfh.com), where a funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. by the Rev. Duane Crumrine. Interment will be made in New Canoe Creek Cemetery.
Contributions in Dennis' memory may be given to the American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
