1 box raisins, cooked and drained (save juice)
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup warm raisin water
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 cups flour
1 package chocolate chips
Mix shortening and brown sugar. Add eggs, milk and raisin water. Set aside.
Sift together the cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, baking soda and flour and gradually add to creamed mixture. Add chocolate chips and the cooked raisins.
Drop by spoonful on greased baking sheet. Bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes or until brown on bottom.
