Nick favorites coming to BJC
UNIVERSITY PARK - Come play along with your favorite pre-school pals live on stage as Nickelodeon's "Storytime Live!" visits the Bryce Jordan Center for two shows, at 2 and 7 p.m. March 2.
The show features four segments with each starring characters from the Nickelodeon shows "Dora the Explorer," "The Backyardigans," "Wonder Pets" and "Ni-Hao, Kai-lan."
Tickets are $15, $23.75 and $29.75 for adults and $12, $17.75 and $20 for children age 11 and younger. Children 12 months and younger are admitted free.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. today and will be available at the Bryce Jordan Ticket Center, Eisenhower Auditorium, Penn State Tickets Downtown, Penn State Altoona Campus, online www.ticketmaster.com,www.bjc.psu.edu or charge-by-phone at 865-5555.
Show raising for theater
STATE COLLEGE - A performance of the Dylan Thomas play "Under Milk Wood" will be presented at 3 p.m. Dec. 31 at The State Theatre.
Directed by Susan Riddiford Shedd and starring community members, "Under Milk Wood" is a community fundraiser for the purchase of a defibrillator for The State Theatre.
Tickets are $5 per person and can be purchased online at www.StateTickets. org, at the box office from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 272-0606 during normal box office hours.
Blues great to play State
STATE COLLEGE - The State Theatre will present blues singer/songwriter and guitarist Robert Cray at 8 p.m. March 29. The special guest for the show will be singer Shemekia Copeland, who previously has performed a solo show at The State Theatre.
Cray is a five-time Grammy winner.
Tickets for this show are $45 per person and go on sale at 11 a.m. today. 'Dreamgirls' soars to stage
PITTSBURGH - The touring production of the hit musical "Dreamgirls" will run for eight performances Dec. 29 through Jan. 3 at Heinz Hall.
The show will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 29 through Dec. 31, 8 p.m. Jan. 1, 2 and 8 p.m. Jan. 2 and 1 and 6:30 p.m. Jan. 3.
The touring cast of "Dreamgirls" includes former "American Idol" finalist Syesha Mercado and TV veteran and Grammy-nominated singer Chaz Lamar Shepherd ( "7th Heaven," "The Parkers," "The Game").
