Felony charges filed after snack cake theftNovember 25, 2009 - From Mirror staff reportsTYRONE - A serial shoplifter is behind bars after Tyrone Borough police said she allegedly stole $4.27 worth of snack cakes last month at a Tyrone convenience store. Sonya Marie Mosey, 33, of 7 Vail Apartments, Tyrone, is charged with felony retail theft after the Oct. 27 incident at Sheetz, 1400 Logan Ave., Tyrone. According to court documents, the manager of the store supplied police with video surveillance that allegedly showed Mosey taking a Tastykake cinnamon roll, a Hostess doughnut and a Tastykake Butterscotch Krimpet from the store without paying. Mosey did pay for a bottle of soda. She is charged with a felony because she has four prior retail theft convictions, arrest papers state. Mosey is awaiting trial on three other cases, an alleged felony retail theft, another for alleged forgery and possession of a controlled substance and the third for alleged disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and making a false report to police, court dockets state. She is also awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to receiving stolen property after being arrested in March and was sentenced this year to probation after pleading guilty in two separate misdemeanor retail theft cases. Mosey was arraigned Monday by video conferencing before Magisterial District Judge Fred B. Miller. She was committed to Blair County prison in lieu of $5,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday before Miller. |
