Mirenda’s hat trick keys Altoona

Frankie Mirenda scored a hat trick in leading the Altoona girls soccer team to a 4-0 win over Clearfield Tuesday at the Altoona Intramural Field.

Up 2-0 at the break, Altoona (4-6) also got a second-half goal from Bree Morris. Goalie Didi Rizzo had 11 saves in the shutout for the Lady Lions.

Corle tied the game with 6 1/2 minutes to go. Marla Beck had the assist on Corle's goal.

Ashley McGhee then took Corle's pass to score the game winner with five minutes to go in the game.

PHILIPSBURG - Josh Burwell scored the game-winning goal off a Deryk Montgomery assist with three minutes to go in overtime as Tyrone defeated Philipsburg-Osceola.

Tyrone jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals from Andrew Burgett and Gabe Figueroa. P-O got two goals from Alex Boumerhi. Boumerhi scored the tying goal with 10 seconds to go in the game.
