Thomas Joseph CaporuscioDec. 17, 1948 - Aug. 25, 2009August 27, 2009Thomas Joseph Caporuscio, 60, Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday at home. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Joseph and Nettie (Grantham) Caporuscio. He married Kathy White. Surviving are his wife of Hollidaysburg; a daughter, Cortney Steiner and husband, Tyke, of Duncansville; a son, Anthony and wife, Megan, of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren: Jack and Kate Steiner; sisters-in-law: Kim Caporuscio and daughter, Kylie, Janet Bell and husband, Joseph, and Susie Gutshall and husband, Vernon; and brothers-in-law: Robert White and wife, Kay, Joseph White and wife, Suzanne, and Gary White. Tom was a 1966 graduate of Altoona Area High School and graduated from Penn State University with an associate degree. He retired in 2009 from Norfolk Southern as a supervisor with 35 years of service. Before being hired by Penn Central, he worked for Sherwin Williams and also had a wallpapering business. Tom was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Hollidaysburg, and the Blair Lodge, Order of the Sons of Italy. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Santella Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church, Hollidaysburg, by Pastor Chuck Monts. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. In memory of Tom, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Home Nursing Hospice. |
