A golf outing, called Swinging For a Cure, is scheduled for Aug. 28 at Park Hills Country Club, Altoona.
The event will raise money to fund research for the disease, which is a rare genetic neurodegenerative multi-system life-shortening disorder. Last year's event raised more than $14,000.
