How much longer can the Curve continue to bat Pedro Alvarez cleanup?
He seems to be unable to hit breaking balls and changeups, and his lack of production is hurting the team's chances of winning some ballgames.
The dwindling attendance could get a boost if the team started winning. Other less heralded prospects are hitting a lot better than Pedro and cost the Pirates less than $6 million.
I suggest giving one of the other players a shot at cleanup and take the pressure off Pedro by batting him seventh or eighth in the lineup until his average gets above the Mendoza line.

Bosses want own identity
The purge continues. Bye, bye Nyjer [Morgan] and Sean [Burnett].
The new Cleveland/Akron regime will eventually get rid of all the players that were developed by the previous owners and general managers so that the Pirates will be their team.
Ryan Doumit, Matt Capps, Andrew McCutchen and anybody else who played here in Altoona should watch out.
Their turn will come.
