David John Myers, 43, of 1229 Walton Ave., Altoona, died Saturday at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus, after a brief illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Thomas Joseph and Nancy Jane (Albright) Myers.
Surviving are a brother, Thomas James (Wendy) of Altoona; a sister, Pamela Ann Minacci (Eric) of Huntersville, N.C.; and eight nieces and nephews: Brian, Ian and Janelle Rhodes, Rachael and Randi Hockenberry, Angela and Stephanie Hoffman and Joseph Myers.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Myers was a 1984 graduate of Altoona Area High School and attended Penn State University Altoona campus. He was a member of the honor society Phi Kappa Phi.
He was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
David enjoyed spending time with his family and dog, Lexus. He was a blues guitar player and an avid Steelers and Penguins fan.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, (www.stevensmortuary.
com). A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona.
Committal rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
