Spc. E-4 Chad A. Edmundson, 20, rural Williamsburg, died while serving his country with the Army National Guard in Iraq.

He was born in Altoona, son of Roy A. and Karen (Craw) Edmundson.

Surviving are his father, Roy and his wife, Sherry, with whom he resided; his mother, Karen Cornell of rural Everett; two sisters: Jessica Miller of Enola and Stephanie Foor at home; three brothers: Alex at home and Timothy and Benjamin Cornell, both of Bedford; his grandparents: Donna Edmundson of Hollidaysburg and Vernon Craw of Altoona; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George B. Edmundson, and his grandmother, Hermie Craw.

Spc. Edmundson had attended Williamsburg Alliance Church, rural Williamsburg.

He was a 2008 graduate of Williamsburg High School where, between his junior and senior years, he enlisted in the military.

Spc. Edmundson was a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard Company B (Bravo), Second Battalion, 112th Infantry Regiment, 56th Stryker Brigade, Frankstown Armory Unit, serving at Camp Liberty, Iraq.

He enjoyed baseball, wrestling, golfing and bowling and was an avid fisherman.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at Williamsburg Alliance Church, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009, with Pastor Paul R. Campbell officiating.

Interment with full military honors will be held at Dry Run Cemetery, rural Duncansville.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that memorial contributions be given to the Pennsylvania Patriot Guard Riders, 1508 Valley Stream Lane, Macungie, PA 18062-8886.

Arrangements are by Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
