The Altoona Mirror

HASTINGS - Hastings police say someone robbed a cash register Monday at the U.S. Post Office in Hastings.

Police are working with federal Postal Inspection Service on the incident and say an unknown subject entered the Beaver Street office between 11:55 a.m. and noon and removed money from the drawer while the post master was in another part of the office.

Staff at the office confirmed federal investigators also were investigating the matter Tuesday, saying they could not comment while the case was ongoing.

Hastings Police Sgt. Melissa Glavach said anyone with information on the robbery can contact police at 247-8756 or through the Cambria non-emergency number at 1-800-281-1680.
