Tammy A. Shaw

Tammy A. Shaw, 40, Bellwood, died Tuesday at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of Robert and Rosella (Samuels) Haigh. She married Richard Wayne Shaw Jr. April 13, 1991, in Altoona.

Surviving are her husband, Richard; two sons: Buddy Shaw and Jordan Shaw, both at home; a brother, Michael Haigh of Altoona; two sisters: Tina Stahl of Hollidaysburg and Terri Harker of Leamersville; as well as some nieces and nephews; her father, Robert Haigh; and her mother-in-law, Renee' Woomer of Tyrone. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosella Haigh; and an uncle, Roy Samuels, formerly of Lake Station, Ind.

Tammy was a store manager for Sheetz Inc., having worked for the company for 20 years.

She was a member of Tipton Baptist Church, where she had been active in the choir and various Bible study groups.

She was a graduate of Altoona Area High School, and enjoyed traveling, flower gardening and especially spending time with her children.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Tipton Baptist Church, with Pastor John Pine and Pastor Timothy Young officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Precious Life Inc., 1716 12th Ave., Altoona, PA 16601.
