Staff and policy council parents from the Blair County Head Start program recently presented $200, along with canned goods and nonperishable items, to the St. Vincent DePaul Society Soup Kitchen to assist the group in meeting the needs of families in the Blair County community this holiday season.
The Blair County Head Start program is a federally and state funded comprehensive preschool program for children ages 3 to 5 and offers parent involvement opportunities through trainings, activities and home visits. Head Start works often with local food banks when assisting its families throughout the program year.
