Fay A. Grove-Corle, 83, 1008 N. Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, died Thursday morning at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus, after an extended illness.
She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of Charles O. and Sarah E. (Irwin) Croft. She was twice married: first to Ronald M. Grove Nov. 29, 1945, in Winchester, Va. He died March 16, 1978. She then married Emil D. Corle Aug. 28, 1993, in Hollidaysburg.
Surviving are her husband; a son, Gary Lewis Grove and wife, Arline, of Goose Creek, S.C.; two daughters: Cathy Ann Fiscus and husband, James, of Pittsburgh and Diane Elizabeth Grove-Ackerman and husband, George, of Kent, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Elaine Corle of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley McLellan of Orlando, Fla.
She was a member of St. John's Reformed Church, Hollidaysburg.
Mrs. Corle was a 1943 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School.
She enjoyed modern western square dancing and camping.
Mrs. Corle was a member of Chimrock Squares and Railroaders Camper Dancers.
Fay was a loving wife and mother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Plank, Stitt and Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg (www.pssfh.com). A funeral service will be be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home by the Rev. David Haydu. Interment at Presbyterian Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.
