Barnes & Noble Customers Share the Gift of Literacy Through Annual Holiday Book Drive
Barnes & Noble to Donate 100,000 Books to Literacy Partner First Book Stores Choose Local Non-Profit Recipients
Barnes & Noble stores across the country invite customers to share the joy of reading with the launch of its annual Holiday Book Drive, taking place November 1st to January 1st . The Barnes & Noble Holiday Book Drive provides an opportunity for customers to donate books to children in need through locally designated non-profit organizations.
Many Holiday Book Drive recipients are schools, libraries, literacy organizations, family social service agencies and homeless centers. This year, Barnes & Noble Altoona, located at 175 Falon Lane will be collecting books for Local Children of Deployed Military.
"Each of our stores has an opportunity to choose its own local non-profit partner to benefit from the Holiday Book Drive. It's a great opportunity for stores and customers to provide new books for children who really need them, through donations to local charities," said Community Relations Director Sarah DiFrancesco. "On a national level, Barnes & Noble and its subsidiary Sterling Publishing will be making a donation of 100,000 books to our literacy partner First Book."
"Through the gift of these books to First Book, the heroes at Barnes & Noble are giving children in need a treasure to warm their holidays and a powerful tool to brighten their future," said Kyle Zimmer, President First Book.
Customers may contact Carol Puskarich / Community Relations Manager or Sherri Martin / Store Manager to find out how to participate in the Holiday Book Drive.
