The 14 steps of past-life regression therapy
There are 14 basic steps to each regression session that Teresa Ippoliti, certified hypnotist, guides. The depth of hypnosis varies with each individual, as does the pace and timing. Each person responds with his own temperament, style and experience.
Ippoliti held a workshop Saturday at the Meg Sanders Billy John Lewis Healing Arts Center in downtown Altoona. Six local people participated.
Here are the steps in the usual order that they follow; each step flows naturally into the next:
1. Hypnosis or self-hypnosis: Entering your own relaxed, receptive, 100 percent natural state of mind.
2. Present-life regression: You are guided to recall pleasant memories from your current life, first around age 15, then age 7.
3. Prenatal regression: Passing through the formative months and recalling the safety of the womb.
4 Blue-mist experience: You enter the "blue mist," or he time in between lives.
5. Past-life regression: Using your senses to re-experience stored memories.
6. Process the information: Open-ended questions are asked, such as "What happens next?" or "What's happening now?" You receive a wealth of information from the prompts.
7. Death experience: A safe and positive way to complete the life's memory. You detach and rise above the lifetime to observe the death experience from a third-person standpoint.
8. Soul lessons: You are asked what you gathered from the life, its lessons, the reasons.
9. Forgiveness: Once the soul forgives people, situations or both from a previous lifetime, it releases that energy.
10. Returning through the blue mist: Bring back something special or a lesson learned.
11. Protective suggestions: Making sure that you will retain in your conscious mind only what is important, helpful and beneficial.
12. Return to present: Step firmly into the present.
13. Wake-up procedure: For total normalization and well being.
14. Discussion and evaluation of session: Participants are encouraged to save all self-analysis for this step.
