Elisabeth Taurines, 17, of Versailles, France, died at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh after the 5:30 p.m. accident on Plank Road near the Logan Valley Mall entrance.
Taurines was riding in a vehicle driven by Claycomb, who was serving as the student's American host.
Claycomb and Baney, who were injured in the crash, were taken to Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus, where they were reported Tuesday to be in fair condition. As of Friday, Baney remained in fair condition, a hospital spokeswoman said. Claycomb no longer was in the hospital.
