UNIVERSITY PARK -- Daryll Clark will start at quarterback for Penn State in Saturday's season opener against Coastal Carolina, coach Joe Paterno announced Tuesday.
Clark and Pat Devlin competed for the starting job during the preseason, but Paterno said Clark's experience was a big factor in selecting the redshirt junior.
Clark was Anthony Morelli's backup the past two years, while Devlin, a redshirt sophomore, played only mop-up duty last season and threw just one pass.
