BELLWOOD-ANTIS FOOTBALL: A 20-year reunion of the Bellwood-Antis 1988 football team will be held on Friday, Sept. 12 at the home football game against Claysburg-Kimmel. There will be a summary of the 13-1 Class AA District 6 championship season and an introduction of all players. Former players should arrive before the game.

Lessons
LEARN TO SKATE GROUP LESSONS: The first session of the Fall Learn to Skate Group Lessons at Galactic Ice begin Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 6:30-7:30 p.m. or Saturday, Sept. 6 at 11 a.m.-noon for all ages. The group lessons for ages 3-5 will be held on Thursdays from noon-1 p.m. beginning Thursday, Sept. 11. Adult only lessons are also on Thursdays from 8:30-9:30 a.m., beginning Sept. 11. PA GRAPPLING: Mixed martial arts for children of all ages. Classes will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28. Classes will crosstrain Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Russian Sambo and Muay Thai in a safe and structured environment. No experience necessary. YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL: The Hollidaysburg Area YMCA instructional flag football league for boys and girls entering grades 1 through 4 will be held at the YMCA on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept. 16 through Oct. 23. Mandatory players' clinics will be held at the YMCA on Aug. 28 and 29. Registration must be submitted by Aug. 29. Call the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA at 695-4467 for more information.

ANN E. BARNES MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT: Thursday, Sept. 4 at Iron Masters Country Club. Tee times are 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. - although the afternoon session is sold out. FLAG FOOTBALL: Volunteers are needed to coach flag football at the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA for children entering grades 1-4. Games are played on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30. A coaches meeting will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. People interested in teaching the fundamentals of football to young children are encouraged to contact the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA at 695-4467 for more information.

JEWISH MEMORIAL CENTER FALL BASKETBALL LEAGUES: Now accepting teams for grade 6 girls (games played on Mondays); grades 4-5 girls (games played on Tuesdays); junior high girls (games played Wednesdays); high school girls (games played Thursdays and Sundays). Entry fee is $275. League play begins the week of Sept. 8. Finals will be Sunday, Nov. 16. Races
LEE FOSTER MEMORIAL RUN: 5-mile race starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 in St. Marys. Pre-registration fee is $13, with registration fee $15 on the day of the race. City of Altoona/Blue and White Race, Sept. 6, 2008. Race includes a rolling 5-mile run, semi-flat 2-mile run, and a 2.1 mile walk around the new health walk near the Railroad Museum. Register online at www.hollidaysburgareaymca.org and click on the Wellness Challenge icon. Day of race, you may register from 6:30 a.m.-7:45 a.m. at the Heritage Plaza in Downtown Altoona where the start and finish will also be. Packets may be picked up the evening before the race from 5 p.m-9 p.m. and the day of race. Please check out our Web site for registration cost.
