Curve's Duffy taken by ambulance to hospital for dehydration

July 17, 2008

Curve center fielder Chris Duffy was taken by ambulance to Altoona Hospital for dehydration following Thursday night's game.

He was on a stretcher in the Curve clubhouse after the game against Harrisburg at Blair County Ballpark.

Curve trainer Thomas Pribyl called it a mild case of dehydration and added Duffy just needed to receive lots of fluids.

Duffy had been out of the lineup for about a week with flu-like symptoms and inner-ear problems. The 28-year-old started Thursday night but was lifted in the seventh inning after complaining of dehydration symptoms.
