Jamie S. Longenecker, 37, Hollidaysburg, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening at the Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus, emergency room.
He was born in Altoona, son of Terry L. and Margaret C. (Igou) Longenecker. He married Debra M. Feathers.
Surviving are his wife; his parents of Altoona; two daughters and a son: Briena, Amber and Jacob; two sisters: Terri Lynn Schevenock and Corinna Joy Schmidt, both in Tennessee; his grandmother, Caroline Igou of Duncansville; his grandfather, Harry H. Longenecker of Huntingdon; and his in-laws, Sherwood and Dona Feathers of Duncansville.
He was employed as a corrections officer for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections at the State Correctional Institution at Huntingdon and at Blair Street Exxon, Hollidaysburg.
Mr. Longenecker was a 1988 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Panama.
Mr. Longenecker enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and repairing cars.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg (www .sorgefuneralhome.com), where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday by Pastor Gary Dull and Pastor Barry Yingling. Interment at Blair Memorial Park.
