Reasy fails to win championship

FAYETTE, Iowa — Shane Perkey topped Northern Bedford graduate Brandon Reasy, 11-3, in a major decision in the semifinals at NCAA Division II National Championships of wrestling Saturday at Upper Iowa University. Reasy then was pinned in the consolation finals by Raymond Dunning to finish fourth.

Reasy was seeded No. 1 in the nation entering the tournament.

Nulton competes at states

LEWISBURG—Tyrone’s Ethan Nulton competed on Saturday at the PIAA Class AA swimming championships at Bucknell University, where he swam in the preliminary rounds, but did not advance to the finals.

In the 200 freestyle, Nulton, a senior, finished 23rd out of 32 with a time of 1:50.11. Trevor Scheid of Shady Side Academy won the race in 1:38.35. Nulton also swam the 100 backstroke, where he finished in 58.58, good for 31st place out of 32 in the preliminary round. The top time in that round was Kevin Mastellar of York Suburban, who took first in 51.40.
