My favorite sports memory: Coaching Mount Carmel football in the Altoona Parochial League in the late 1970s and early 1980s. I just loved working with all those kids.
The local athlete I most enjoyed watching while growing up: My brother Sonny Pacifico, who worked his butt off in high school football even though he never started for the Mountain Lions.
My all-time favorite local coach: My father, Al Pacifico
The most famous athlete I ever met: Franco Harris
My most prized autograph/picture is of: A photo of Burt Reynolds when he was playing football at Florida State
If I have a claim to fame as a fan it would be: I got to hang out with Muhammad Ali at a wedding one time.
If I were czar of local sports: Stop telling kids that it doesn’t matter if you win or lose. Winning does matter and that’s not a bad thing.
