Tamale Pie
Tamale Pie
1 large bag of Doritos
2 pounds ground beef
3 large bags of taco cheese
2 cans of enchilada sauce
1 small can of diced green chilies
Sour cream
Guacamole
Lettuce
Italian dressing
Cook’s note: The original recipe called for 2 cans of Ro-tel tomatoes and 1 small can of Hunts Sauce instead of the enchilada sauce and chilies. As those ingredients can be hard to find, the substitution was made.
Brown the ground beef and strain. Drain green chilies and stir them into the ground beef.
In a greased lasagna pan, layer the ingredients as you would a lasagna — first with 1/4 of the enchilada sauce, then 1/3 of the Doritos, 1/3 of the beef/chili mixture, 1/4 of the enchilada sauce and 1/3 of the cheese. Repeat. Top with cheese.
Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 35-40 minutes, or until cheese is golden brown.
