Athlete of week achievement: Layton tossed a one-hitter in Tuesday’s 10-0 victory over Southern Fulton. In a doubleheader against Tussey Mountain on the very next day, she had an RBI in an 8-1 win, and was the winning pitcher with a double and three hits in a 7-1 victory.
Season update: Entering the final week of the regular season, Layton has 68 strikeouts in 53 innings of work. Everett is now 11-1. She’s batting .350 and is in the top five in RBIs on the team.
