Touring with international voices
Children from India, Uganda and the Philippines make up the Eastern tour of Children of the World International Children’s Choir. They will sing praise and worship songs, including one in each of their languages at First Baptist Church in Altoona.
Chad and Natalie Winder were married less than a year when they took 16 children from three different countries under their wing.
The Winders, who grew up in Altoona, and their entourage will be arriving here next week where the youths will present a concert at First Baptist Church, 1209 17th St.
“I’m so excited,” said Natalie Winder, whose home church is First Baptist. “We came here for Christmas, and the kids are excited about going back to Altoona.”
The children, ages 7 to 11, are members of the Children of the World International Children’s Choir, sponsored by World Help. They represent India, the Philippians and Uganda. The Winders are their team leaders.
The group, along with two sound technicians, Alice, a chaperone from India, and Michele, a chaperone from the Philippines, have been touring the eastern United States since getting together in August.
