| | Ricky Lee and Italian Food This Weekend!September 21, 2012 - Jim PriceBesides the official return of autumn, two area favorites also return to help provide some of this weekend’s live music happenings. For country fans, Altoona hometown favorite Ricky Lee takes the flat car stage at Altoona’s Railroaders Museum this Friday evening. Billed as his “My Hometown” concert, this will be Lee’s first full-production concert in the Altoona area since 2009. Lee will perform plenty of his song favorites, including his current single “My Hometown.” Opening for Lee will be Elvis impersonator J.J. Hancock, and Johnstown-based Johnny and June Carter Cash tribute group Ole 97. In addition, the Made In America mobile store, featuring American-made goods and products, will be at the Railroaders Museum as well during Lee’s concert. The festivities begin at 6 p.m.; tickets are $10 in advance, or $15 at the gate. A favorite area tradition returns to Delgrosso’s Amusement Park in Tipton on Sunday afternoon. The 23rd annual Italian Food Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., again featuring a wide menu of Italian foods and desserts, plus featured performer Micheal Castaldo with shows at 1 and 4 p.m. Now based in New York City, the Italian-born Castaldo will croon a variety of Italian standards and pop songs, and share some of his background, heritage and zest for all things Italian with the audience. Admission to the Italian Food Festival is free. Here is a full listing for live music on area stages this weekend and the coming week:
