Although that famous feud likely won’t unfold on area live music stages this weekend, a national recording act with ancestral ties to one of those clans will be headlining a triple-bill at Yesterday’s Party in Ebensburg this Friday night, June 1. Formed in 1998 at Marshall University in West Virginia, Bobaflex features two brothers named McCoy. Shaun and Marty McCoy trade guitar and lead vocal duties in the group. The pair is flanked by guitarist Chris Grogan, drummer Tommy Johnson and bassist Jerod Mankin. Named after Star Wars bounty hunter Boba Fett, Bobaflex has achieved national notoriety in their career, releasing four albums with Eclipse, TVT Records and BFX Records/Megaforce. They have been part of Gigantour and other tours, and have shared stages with such names as Nickelback, Sevendust, Filter, Megadeth, Dream Theater and others. They are headlining the Jagermeister stage on this year’s Rock on the Range tour. Opening for Bobaflex at Yesterday’s Party will be Johnstown-based rock/roots/reggae combo Dubmissive, and a reunion of Indiana-based rockers Litany. Advance tickets are $7, or $10 at the door.
