| | O'Brien getting an early startFebruary 15, 2012 - Neil RudelOver the years, media covering Penn State football have longed for more access. Well, new coach Bill O'Brien has offered some access, all right: A media invitation went out Tuesday night alerting that there will be a photo and video opportunity at a conditioning session on Friday morning. Beginning at 5:15. Further, the directive reads, "some or all of the session may be held outside so dress appropriately." A couple of assistant coaches will be available after the session so media members who want to sleep in can show up around 7 a.m. I like what O'Brien is doing. He's conditioning the team twice a week at 5:15 a.m. and presiding over lifting three-four days a week at 7. He obviously wants to put his stamp on the program, and getting the squad together at 5 a.m. -- outside -- will do that. It will also build camaraderie and toughness that will serve the Nittany Lions well as they go forward.
