Pitt gets another chance on ESPN

Pitt plays UConn tonight on ESPN.

Tonight -- as in Wednesday night.

Pitt (3-4) has been largely disappointing so far and is coming off two straight losses -- at Rutgers and against Utah at Heinz Field. Upon his hiring, Todd Graham talked a good game but has not delivered, even though, to be fair, he's very early in his Pitt coaching tenure.

The last time the Panthers played a midweek game was against South Florida, and they turned in an impressive performance behind the running of Ray Graham.

There were a whole lot of empty seats that night (Sept. 29), and there will be even more tonight. College teams that aren't winning big often struggle in professional towns.

And students aren't exactly in a game-day mode while they're in class on a Wednesday -- especially for 3-4 teams.
