October 9, 2011 - Buck Frank
Titans running back Chris Johnson has just 160 yards rushing in three career games against the Steelers and has averaged just 3.4 yards per carry. The Steelers won't have Casey Hampton plugging up the middle today, and they won't have Aaron Smith taking on multiple blockers. The Steelers will also be without James Harrison. Look for the Titans to try and utilize Johnson's speed, especially now that he has his fullback, Ahmard Hall, back in the lineup. If the Steelers defense plays like it did last week against Houston, CJ may be running all over the Steelers today. --Rashard Mendenhall (hamstring) is dressed for the game, but the Steelers could only deactivate seven players, and they already had seven guys who were more injured than Mendenhall. It will be interesting to see how the Steelers use Mendenhall today and if Isaac Redman can handle a heavier load of carries. --Newly re-acquired Max Starks was running with the first team this week in practice, but the Steelers still have Jonathan Scott listed as the starter at left tackle. --The Steelers also announced that Chris Hoke will start in place of Hampton at nose tackle. A possibility existed that Steve McLendon would get his first NFL start. --Dennis Dixon is dressed for today's game, as is running back Jonathan Dwyer.
