I'm only 37, but does going to a Kenny Rogers concert make me old?

June 16, 2011 - Cory Giger
I have wildly eclectic music taste. My iPod has everything from Eminem to Garth Brooks, Kanye West to Taylor Swift, Alanis Morissette to Andrea Bocelli and both 80s female pop icons, Debbie Gibson and Tiffany.

And I have no problem admitting, despite being only 37, that I very much enjoy listening to Kenny Rogers. So much, in fact, that my wife and I are going to see Kenny in concert tonight at IUP.

Does that make me an old fogy? Does listening to some country singer who became famous in the 1970s make me an uncool, over-the-hill, middle-aged guy? Does the fact that I know every word of most of his hit songs and will be singing along make me a big music nerd.

I'd like to think not, but I'm guessing anyone under the age of 30 would say yes.

What is the appropriate age for Kenny Rogers fans, anyway?
