Owens Perm Hat, Cruise Series "Headline" 2011 Giveaways

It's been too long. As we're just 45 days away from the 2011 Altoona Curve home opener, we thought we'd start releasing our promotional schedule today. We've started it off with our giveaway event schedule. There are 22...count 'em 22 giveaway events on the schedule.

Among the highlights: the Rudy Owens Perm Hat Giveaway on August 5 (presented by Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association) which pays homage to the two-time Pirates' Minor League Pitcher of the Year and 2010 Curve standout in a unique fashion. Owens got a perm early last season and wore it throughout the summer. Now, fans will get to see what's it like to wear an Owens perm with a hat attached for good measure.

We're also hosting a Summer Cruise Series presented by Nittany Travel that will not only result in someone winning a cruise for four, but also give fans 21 and over a chance to grab some collectibles that commemorate some of Tom Cruise's early acting roles. Aviator Sunglasses ("Top Gun"-June 16), Tighty Whiteys ("Risky Business"-July 7), Shot Glasses ("Cocktail"-July 21), and Foam Footballs ("All the Right Moves"-Aug. 4) will go to the first 500 fans 21 and over on those promotional dates. All fans collecting all four Cruise-related items will be entered into a drawing for the free vacation cruise to be given away on September 4.

We'll also give away Replica Eastern League Championship Trophies (April 17 presented by Holiday Inn Express), Jose Bautista Silver Slugger Figurines (July 22 presented by Peoples Natural Gas), and several items related to our new mascot - "Tenacious C".
