Can Lions get up for NIT?
March 17, 2009 - Neil Rudel
Ed DeChellis will have to do a great coaching job tonight for Penn State to get started on the right foot in the NIT.
Jokes aside -- that you can't spell N-I-T without the Nittany Lions -- he'll have his work cut out simply because the PSU camp was focused on making its first NCAA Tournament in eight years.
That it was one of the last teams left standing and now must turn around and play two days later against a George Mason team that figured it was in the NIT will be tough.
It will be curious to see how the PSU student body responds as well. Playing at home may not be a real advantage in this case.
