Womens' 10,000m results

August 15, 2008 - Erik Brown

The track & field events finally got underway today in Beijing.

The womens' 10,000m final was held at 10:45 AM Eastern and I'm very pleased to report that the United States was well represented. Of course, the race wasn't carried live - we haven't seen enough beach volleyball yet . But here is a link to a Runner's World blog that gave lap by lap updates as the race unfolded just a short time ago. Do yourself a favor, and read the blog entries in chronological order, you'll need to scroll to the bottom of the webpage and then read each paragraph post as you scroll upwards. There is a typo near the top. Shalane Flanagan's time is shown as 32:22. The correct time for her would actually be 30:22.

Remember, no peeking at the very top until you've read everything below. I'm pretty sure that some portion of the race will be broadcast later tonight - possibly after midnight - unless of course there's a beach volleyball game happening somewhere.
