Lakers bleeding but not dead

June 10, 2008 - Neil Rudel

My Lakers-in-6 pick?

I'm wavering.

I still think it will be a series because these things don't become storylines until somebody wins on the other guy's court.

That said, the Lakers are in a must-win situation tonight. Typically, when the team that's down 2-0 returns home, they're a sure bet to win (cover, that's a different story, but that's a good bet, too).

Just ask, ah, never mind.

If the Lakers sweep at home, they go back to Boston 3-2. And the Celtics, at that point, won't be as confident. So LA's not dead yet. But it would help if Kobe gets interested before the fourth quarter.

Despite my pick, my allegiances have changed: I can still win my Fantasy League if it ends fast. Like Boston in 4 fast. (Aside: from this point, every James Posey 3 is like a dagger in my heart).

If the Celts can get one in LA, they should be home free.

I'm sticking with LA and will let ya know in how many later.
