Pryor nears PSU visit

March 7, 2008 - Neil Rudel

One way or another, Penn State could be getting a visit from Jeannette star quarterback Terrelle Pryor next weekend.

The Jeannette basketball team, starring Pryor, needs two wins to advance to the PIAA Class AA championship game, which will be held at the Bryce Jordan Center on Saturday.

And with WPIAL rival Beaver Falls having already lost, the road seems more negotiable for Jeannette.

While it's doubtful this would be the "official" visit to Penn State that Pryor's dad wanted him to schedule -- and what has delayed the much-anticipated decision after postponing it from the national letter-of-day on Feb. 6 -- it could well be another time to get Pryor on campus when he's still available.

Following the state championships, there are still two weekends -- March 22-23 and March 29-30 -- to secure the traditional 48-hour visit, which means Pryor could be at PSU twice in two or three weeks.

The NCAA signing deadline is April 1.

Advantage, PSU?
