CBI -- college basketball insult

Is there anything more ridiculous than the CBI, a postseason college basketball tournament that will debut this year after gathering the leftovers after the NIT?

Maybe there's hope for St. Francis (6-22) after all.

The CBI, short for the College Basketball Invitational, will invite 16 teams. That means a total of 112 teams will be entering a postseason in March, despite a preseason that began in October.

And the NCAA presidents tell us that a football playoff is not feasible because, in part, it will make the season too long when the basketball season is a full month longer than football already.
