Oregon fire hydrant gone to the dogs?

October 10, 2007 - Amy Jo Hanna-Eckenrode

A lot of things in life scare me. I often scare myself. Having worked in the world of local government for a short stint (many moons ago), however, all I can do is shake my head that this story even became a story -- not just because 'people' - yes, humans, found it worthy enough to make a minor stink about BUT that they felt they had to have their local officials take the time to 'fix' the injustice. And, don't even think of going the unpatriotic route. Nobody is as patriotic and loves their country more than me.

Scary.  "How many code enforcement officers does it take to pacify one constituent?..."
