Mirror talent hits 'waves
June 28, 2007 - Neil Rudel
You know your newspaper's got something going for it when its talent can transcend media.
After all, communication is communication, right?
That's been the case this week as the Mirror has been well represented in taking the place of vacationing Rob Egan on Forever Broadcasting's "Front and Center," program (4-6 p.m. weekdays, ESPN Radio 1430 in Altoona and ESPN Radio 1450 in State College).
I returned from vacation just in time to hear Cory Giger do an excellent job mixing opinions and guests from Monday through Wednesday, and Scott Franco will step in Friday to do the same.
Cory also tapped the golf expertise of versatile photog Jason Sipes, fresh from the U.S. Open.
While Giger relied on his expertise -- Penn State, good pull of AD Tim Curley, by the way -- and minor league baseball, who knows what direction Franco will go? Here's hoping he doesn't open up with the Texas Rangers and University of Illinois football.
We can only hope, to keep it real, Franco's twin sons, Domenic and Vincent, will provide the audio backdrop.
