Policy worked well
At the end of the school year, I felt it appropriate to acknowledge one of the principals of the Altoona Area School District for a job well done.
Jill Daloisio, the principal at Logan Elementary School, recently implemented a new student drop-off and pick-up policy at the school.
As with most policy changes, a few bugs had to be worked out; but they were quickly resolved and the transition worked beautifully.
The faculty and staff at Logan did a great job of greeting the students each morning and sending them off each afternoon, which also seemed very positive for student morale.
The end result is that the students felt much safer upon arrival and dismissal times.
In today’s society, student safety is paramount, and it’s refreshing to know that we have teachers and administrators who have our students safety as a priority.
