Re-elect school director Lois Kaneshiki on Nov. 5.

Students and taxpayers alike in the Hollidaysburg Area School District will benefit from her passion for sound education underpinned by her grasp of fiscal discipline.

Kaneshiki is prepared to address concern over the number of HASD students entering college who are required to take remedial math and English. She recognizes the need to monitor these instances, identify the shortcomings and rectify any district deficiencies — to ensure competence in core areas of study.

She can initiate a board effort to establish a system of accountability for proficiency in basic math and English skills.
