Cresson Legion puts its best foot forward

I would like to say thank you to the members of the Cresson American Legion Post.

They hosted a day of fishing for veterans on June 8 at the freshwater pond in Dysart. They stocked the pond with trout.

The day was free to all veterans. They provided food, fishing rods and bait. They had vets from the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.

They also had Boy Scouts from Ashville helping. The Scouts went around the pond bringing food and drinks to the vets who had trouble getting around or were in walkers.

The Cresson Legion does this for free every year in June for all area veterans.

They wouldn’t even take a donation that I wanted to give.

These men and women and Scouts get a big thank you.
