Joyce will advocate for our patients

In the Oct. 7 Mirror was an excellent editorial regarding what voters want in health care.

As a physician, I am aware that almost 40 percent of patients put off seeing their doctor due to the cost. One-third of patients avoid filling a prescription because of the expense. This is disappointing.

The U.S. Congress needs to place more of the decision-making into the hands of the patients. Patients need to be able to choose health insurance plans based on the coverage that they require. Desire for choice is advocated by congressional candidate John Joyce.

Joyce, as a physician, as an employer and as a health care consumer understands that a fair market system must be in the hands of the patients.

Joyce has addressed health care as the No. 1 issue in his campaign.

Join me as a doctor and a health care consumer in voting for John Joyce.
