Trump should practice what he preaches

Webster’s Dictionary defines a hypocritical act as an action by someone “that is in direct contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings.”

A few days ago on WJAC, I saw a report about President Donald Trump’s new 2020 campaign flags. The new flag logo is “Keep America Great.”

For those who are unaware, the flags are being manufactured in China, by the same company who produced his “Make America Great Again” merchandise.

The president is having them produced before his own tariffs take effect and he would be penalized by them. What I am sharing is not “fake news.”

I saw the footage of Chinese workers producing the items.

Why such a disconnect between the president’s words and his actions?

With all due respect to my friends and family who are Trump supporters, I believe that if the president were truly serious about his MAGA mantra, then he would have procured an American company to make his merchandise instead of outsourcing millions of dollars to China.

If I owned any MAGA merchandise, I would promptly return them and insist upon American-made flags or hats.

Perhaps if the items were sent back to the president C.O.D. and he had to pay for the returns, then he would finally understand how hypocritical his actions are regarding his “Make America Great Again” mantra.
