Commissioners have let down taxpayers

When you talk to me about a budget, it means I have a set amount of money to spend, and when it’s gone, it is gone.

The Blair County commissioners don’t seem to know what that means. They borrowed $7 million last year, and this year they want $10 million — an extra $3 million.

Did the $7 million they borrowed last year get paid back, or is this $10 million just going to put us further in debt?

The amount they spent on the courthouse is a total joke, having to put scaffolding up two or three times at a ridiculous expense. Why didn’t they finish the job when the scaffolding was up in the first place? Stupidity seems to be the answer that fits best.

They always say that the pension is underfunded. Well that is another bit of stupidity on behalf of our supposedly leaders. Why would you allot more pensions to people than what your tax base allows? This is a no brainer.

If I spend more than I have in my checking account, I get heavily fined, so start using your head for something besides wearing a hat. Spend what you have, not what you don’t have.

Quit pushing this stupidity off on the taxpayers.
